A Wish Upon A Star

Oh shooting star so far above, I'm wishing you to bring me love If you choose to not grant this wish, I'll settle for a strangers kiss The Holidays approaching near, My heart grows fonder, every year. It's New Years Eve, I'm all alone, in a club, wearing cheap cologne. Someday I'll know these dreams come true, it is my love, when I find you. It's you I've waited for all my life. Never once loosing hope inspite, this lonely heart I pray survives. Oh shooting star, please make things right. I know you're out there, hear these words. We'll dance real close and afterwards, I'll thank the stars that brought me you, and fix this lonely heart, I knew. Oh shooting star so far above. I'm wishing you to bring me love. Now that you granted my one wish, I'll settle for my new Loves Kiss. Oh shooting star from far above, I thank you, for bringing me love... Credits: Please Come Home For Christmas. I enjoyed reading your wonderful yet sad write. We have 2 dear friends. One just lost her husband & one just lost his wife. Both were so sad but at Christmas it is extra sad. It is a sad time for many. Have a blessed day writing away.............

Hey Jim you have lot's of friends here. Know that my friend. There is so much lacking in this world especially the homeless, and their plight in life. I am always thankful no matter how sad I am feeling that others have it much worse than I do in this life and I count my blessings. Christmas is a time of family reunions and celebrations. But the aged people are mostly lonely with their children settled and working far away. For them the occasions of celebration are not joyous occasions, but deeply sorrowful with no dear ones around. Loneliness in old age is a harsh reality most of us have to reckon with. May you be blessed with family on Christmas and New year, dear Michael.

I once read that during these festive times, there is an increase in suicides. We have lost the fervour of prayer.

Yes Victor it would not surprise me to hear this sad fact. Prayer is important when you realize you are not alone if you believe in Christ and have a relationship with him it is harder to be lonely but we sometimes forget that and we succumb to feeling lonely... God bless you Victor..

Very true Tom. Also for the single Gals and Guys that for one reason or another are without a partner during these Festive times and find themselves alone. These Festive times bring memories of special times in the past that involved loved ones that have departed. They find Themselves thinking about the joyful Holidays with their loved one's. Tom for those widowed also have heartache and like the song refers to "Oh what a Christmas to have the blues." Thank you Tom for your always appreciated comments. God bless you my friend...

I too want to wish you good health to all you love and you, a safe new year, Peace for Israel and other Nations, an end to terrorism, and all your family's well being overseas... On a side note I liked Charles Brown singing his song and it is so impressive that he wrote it too. Don Henley the lead singer for the Eagles sang Mr Brown's hit and made it a hit again. I used to love Henley but his greed for money and how he treated other Eagle members left me not liking him as much. He is though very talented in playing drums and singing. Much of the Eagles hits he did not write he is a great opportunist. Thank you for your kind words and be blessed my friend...
