A Brief Digression
Just a pinpoint of
light
in the darkness
only a gust of wind
We pass green
meadows
and taste the
cool waters
of the river
of life
Yet the ground
is slipping
away
beneath our feet
a touch
of serendipity
then the book
closes
Let's take joy
while we can
the moon is
bright tonight
so we can
read the faces we
see
learn that we're
not alone
we're all riders
on a train to
nowhere
so breathe
deeply
of the perfumed
air
and let fear fly
out
an open window
let the sound
a heart beating
be your guide
