A '70s State of Mind

'Jesus Christ Superstar': this might tell you where we are. With open sky and stars above, it's just another summer of love. Bota bag across my breast (Strawberry Hill is the best). In sandals and long madras gown, out for a seventies night on the town. It's a Broadway production, L.A. style, in an Amphitheater higher than a mile. Sweet smoke permeates the air with hundreds of people 'being' there. Passing a joint down the row, Mary just doesn't know what's the buzz all about? It's a happening without a doubt! Whooooah, high as a kite. Congrats, and good luck with the autobiography- the kids will hopefully find out how cool you are before you pop your clogs. Viv x

Thank you, Eve. I love these contests that motivate me to look back on my life. I'm trying to write an auto- biography for my grandkids. I want to share with them those times and the eyewitness to history. Hugs. Janece

Thanks for my poem's placement in your contest, Line. I wasn't sure my '70s catch phrases and references to songs in the musical would be recognized by other generations. I knew you would see it. Thanks for motivating me to go back in time. Hugs. Janece

Thanks, Caycay. I enjoyed your honest winning poem. You might have had a tougher time than me but I notice we enjoyed many of the same bands and writings. Hugs. Janece

Hello, Arturo. I have met you through your poetry. I think I had left Soup when you arrived so almost missed you. Please excuse my oversight. Thank you for your kind comment. I will continue to read your poems and enjoy your spirit. Your friend in poetry, Jan.

Thanks, Silent One. Are you familiar with the music and songs of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'? I hear that it may be reproduced with a new cast for a new generation. The '70s were my first decade on my own. I learned a lot about myself and the world in those 10 years.Perhaps, I should write more about my experiences and impressions. Thanks for your continued support, SO. It keeps me motivated. Best wishes, Jan.
