Twin Flames

Nostalgia is creeping up on me, Walking back into history. Back then, we were only nine, There’s no way we knew we run out of time. I remembered our days in the park, We played late, until dark. You were me, and I were you, Both wearing our red shoes. You knew immediately what was wrong, with me, Whispered sweet encouraging words in my ear, Only for me to hear. What happened then? Why are we not anymore friends? Are you still angry, that I had to grow up fast? Left you in my past. I wished I could go back in time, When we were both nine. This time I’ll take your hand, So that you can walk with me into Neverland. We would stay there as kids, Playing carefree, eating sweet treats. I am sorry I left you behind, But is better to remain nine.
