The Invitation
Come with me, you will see,
We will go on a glorious journey.
We will soar like eagles with amazing wings,
There we will be queens and kings.
Higher than clouds, with a bird’s view
Above the hills and valleys,
Out of reach of the dark, dangerous alleys.
No more begging for food,
Or getting an unwelcome boot.
You will walk on golden streets,
Even with your blisters, bare feet.
In my father’s house there are many rooms,
You will be far away from all the gloom
Take your last breath and fall asleep,
Your body the earth must keep.
We will leave it behind,
For someone to find.
In a few days it will decay,
No one will mourn,
Or keep your memories close to their heart.
Enough reason to depart.
Say goodbye to the old ways,
Ahead, waiting the best days.
