Soft Silence
There is a soft silence, all around.
Traffic noise, muffled, barely a sound.
The ocean is calm, waves gently touch the sand.
Flowing slowly in it's search for land.
The island wind, a given, everyday.
Hardly a breeze, drifting from either way.
Only a slight rustling of grass from the dunes,
The inhabitants are silent, singing no tunes.
This peaceful quiet, rarely heard before,
is a treasured moment, enjoyed all the more.
