PROCLAMATION
We need a day to proclaim,
Praise of a good invention,
When it was first discovered,
By the Aztec generation.
It was in bitter liquid form,
'til the Spanish made it sweet.
Then in eighteen forty seven,
It became a solid treat.
Making it from cocoa beans,
With sugar for company,
Chocolate has now become,
The favourite choice of many.
Let us remember those men,
Who made this sweet history.
Mister Fry who was the first,
Second was Lindt's factory.
Now made in many countries,
Each striving for perfection,
Gold medals are awarded,
For this splendid confection.
The chocolate story continues,
It will never fade away,
While chocolate lovers continue,
To consume it every day.
