Off the Beaten Path
Lay down your troubles and woes,
Worrying won’t solve them, plus it is showing distrust in someone special, so just let go.
Give thanks for all that you have, for many have less,
Thank God for this awesome country I would not want to live elsewhere and this I do confess.
We are far from perfect and as of late we’ve wandered off the path and may have changed
our fate,
But as long as we still draw breath to set things right it is never too late.
The commandments given to us by God will never steer us wrong,
So why have we allowed them to be removed from places where they belong?
We as citizens have the right to demand the way our country is led,
But we’ve turned a blind eye to what is right and are being led astray instead.
What happened to the values given to us by our parents when we were young?
The stuff I hear children say now would have insured a bar of soap used on their tongue.
Giving condoms to children at school, when I was a kid would have gotten somebody fired,
What we are saying is go ahead and have sex, or anything else their heart desired.
We have condoned this type of behavior much too long and we need to make amends,
And tough is all I can say if this message of right and wrong offends.
We have been much too open minded and allowed what we knew was wrong to even have a say,
And if we don’t start living by the laws God gave man then hard times will become the norm
should we choose that way.
God help us and He will if enough choose to follow His path,
But the way we are going it looks like instead we are doomed to witness His anger and feel
His mighty wrath.
