D Day

Can’t promise me the stars and moon Then look the other way I thought we aired the truth that night So why are you pulling away I thought we had plans That we’d chance our happiness combine You said to take a stand then You were supposed to be mine I’m not good at games like you So please don’t lower my walls Walk into my heart And stage for me to lose I caught a bad indulgence A smile and open mind It doesn’t help that you seem to know me It just further makes me blind I’m stumbling trying to find a clue Can’t seem to find my way I keep hoping for a new beginning One that means you stay I’ve ripped off all my skin Callused hands from digging graves Going to bury the history Take a chance on this big wave I warned you I’d make you fall But I never thought you would I guess secretly I hoped Then I realized that you could Let’s settle the score You’re miles ahead Cause I owe you one or more Now I’m severely in your debt
