Notes About The Poem

Responsibility As A Bus Driver

Children can be pretty noisy while you’re driving
As they are in your responsible care.
When you take the bus back to the garage,
After dropping every child at their homes or daycare
Make a thorough sweep over every row ensuring a child has not
Been left behind and make sure everything is secure.

For me at my work if you have a child on the bus once you are back to the base, you still get to keep your job IF you have not for any reason gotten off the bus even as much as for a moment. Back at the base is like your last chance to find that hiding child. Congratulations on your win in my contest.

As a former kindergarten teacher Eve, I can remember a call from the principal that a child had not gotten off the bus one day. Parents and myself of course panicking, their little one had fallen asleep curled up in her seat in the back of the bus. This poem made me remember how much I liked teaching and that scary but funny experience.

This is a very interesting way of dealing with this contest. We send our children to school assured that our drivers of a school bus are responsible persons. Alas there will always be an exception. Hugs xx
