" of Africa "
So may have been that we who thought ~
Lands afar 'cross sea swift we'd ought ~
Shores held for us such wealths o'mind ~
O'which we'd never thought we'd find ~
Yet in doing that we'd desired ~
Thus so had much more inspired ~
For naught we knew o'such as does ~
Africa her secret was ~
She her realm of sightly glow ~
We so hers to only show ~
Yet had once been woman so ~
Of that land where we might go ~
For upon her grass once glided lass ~
O'such she was but shimmering glass~
Silken thread o'memory all ~
Her song so did our hearts enthrall~
