Loves' Prisoner
Lying in a cold cell
Waiting for the light of day
No one here I can tell
Why here I must stay
Her love has imprisoned me
And I shall never break out
Inmate I will ever be
Of this I have no doubt
'Twas in late spring I saw her first
A stunning brown-eyed girl
One look at Lynn my life reversed
A new banner I unfurl
But she can't see the gifts I bring
Within this shabby box
She wouldn't say I single thing
Until fate suddenly knocks
A wave from fate dumped me flat
Upon life's rocky shore
My sweet angel was there like that
To help me rise once
Walking with her down that lonely beach
I envisioned my new life
This new goal I had to reach
To have her as my wife
To my utter surprise she agreed
My heart was all a swell
Now I'm locked but never freed
Within loves' prison cell
