Our receptive hearts have allready heard The breeze reports August The shadows fall when the day is done Roving winds and rain are waiting For every day that passes, the autumn is preparing Goodbye butterfly, wondering where your journey ends When that day comes, I will kiss you softly The painting will change color and give the landscape a blush We always seek, and new jewels will be found It hurts to say it, but the summer has an end 05.08.2016 - Sun :) - A-L Andresen :) (unrhymed couplets) Copyright © All Rights Reserved

What summer?? Like you, Ireland has had more rain than sunshine this year. It feels as if we should now look forward to May and October instead Anne-Lise. Another beautiful calming piece of poetry.

Hi Anne-Lise, another excellent write from your pen. Summer comes to an end and then my favourite season comes along, Autumn. Yes, the summer has an end but at least it is not final. The summer shall return. There is always a tinge of sadness when the summer dies and yet for someone who loves Autumn the sadness does not last long. Gee Sunshine! I absolutely adored this sad write. Saying goodbye like that is like breaking up for good. Weird for us living in the South because Spring is happening here. Cozy up this Fall and write away those long nights ahead.
