Veni Vidi Vici
In 47 BC, the Great Warrior
Chanted “Veni Vidi Vici”
“I came, I saw, I conquered.”
In full glory along Pompe’s Way
Pompe In Julius Caesar’s time
Majestically rode on Return!
The crowd gathered waving flags
For the safe return of a hero,
Even Captives he brought home!
A swift defeat of the enemy,
Smoking Cities burnt down
To the ground left he behind.
Plundered of all that’s good,
No one left to tell the tale,
For ashes couldn’t speak!
Once home He victoriously
Shouted to the frenzied crowd,
“Veni Vidi Vici
I Came I saw I Conquered.”
