It was Diwali, I was so excited to go see the fireworks with her I wore yellow because that is her favourite color We went to shop firecrackers and we couldn't wait for the sun to go down I lit up the rockets and ran towards her On the first boom of the firecracker, she shrieked of joy And that day I saw the most vibrant shade of brown hazel eyes Shining brighter than every light around us She beholds cosmos in her shimmery lids She looked at me and my heart ceased to exist for a second And at 7.05 pm on a Diwali, I saw the light of my life in her eyes
