2017
While rocking in the new year in my swing
My friend lies shivering against my thigh
It brings to mind the coming warmth of spring
Tonight the celebration lights the sky
Now deep in thought, I wonder what's ahead
Will twenty seventeen be good or bad
How many tears of heartache will be shed
Or will this be the year love makes me glad
But gathering my thoughts back to today
For me tomorrow is of no concern
I do my best each day that comes my way
Cause once it's past, I know it won't return
Another year of days has come and gone
My apprehension rises with the dawn
