Hi Inky. Nice to see you! I appreciate the kind words expressed for my poem. I like the mistletoe ending too, although it really doesn't flow well. I wanted to make it a little Christmasy LOL. Thanks for the GL. :)

Hey neighbor. I was born in West Texas and spent my early years there. I now live in East Texas. I could write a whole other poem about the critters and plants of the Piney Woods!! And think what we could do with the plains, lowlands, and coastal areas, among others!!! LOL Many thanks for the fav!!

I see a winner! Love the two stanzas - one with the wild animals, the other with vegetation…love the javelinas (I recently visited my aunt in Arizona, so that made me smile)…tumbleweeds, diggers, thistles. A fave for me!

Thanks Kim! I could have made several more stanzas with all the crazy stuff we have here, but thought I hit some of the high points. Arizona and West Texas have many in critters and plants in common. I really appreciate the fav!! :)

I like the way you set this backward of the song you've parodied. Good luck in the contest, well I assume you entered this.
