-train-

Daily Poetry #73, April 11, 2017 Word: Train The miles rack up and the train continues it's path, And I count down the distance for when we'll meet; simple math. Love is such a complex thing that's constantly changing, Like the train that I'm traveling on, let's keep on going. Every night, the cold seeps in and chills me, So I cuddle in the blanket, for you are all I see. Before I fall asleep on this long and winding road, I draw a heart on the window as I find our abode. Clack! Clack! Wheels continue to turn on the track, My heart races as I wish to have you back. People come and go, day turns into night, And when I'm lonely, I think of you, and I feel right. I wake to the sound of the whistle crying out, So I look around to see what it's about. My stop has finally come, so I jump out of my seat, Taking out my belongings, I can't wait for us to meet! The bell lets out a final cry, people talk all around, And as I call out your name, my voice barely makes a sound. For some reason, I begin to lose faith and I look to the ground, But arms wrap tight around me, and I realize: I've been found.
