Word: Soul

Why
do I
feel like I
cannot speak to
others as my age?
Is my soul too wise for
the better of itself? Or,
was I never meant to speak to
you, unless giving an elder’s words?
If my soul were to be a human, would
it be an old woman that looks at the
world with worn and tired eyes, or would
it be an adventurous child
with bright eyes that hold the stars?
Have I lost everything
that kept my soul bright?
Or was I meant
to be an
ancient
soul?
That
woman,
who has seen
the world's vastness,
am I nothing like
her, or closer than I
once thought as a young child?
One day, I'm sure of it, I'll be
the one to empty my old soul in
the stories that I will tell the next.
So for now, let me wander as a child,
let this ancient soul of mine see the world,
until I can no longer wander.
When I come back home, I will speak
to you with the mind of my
elders, the heart of a
child, and a soul that
will be wise, but
will still wonder.
My soul will
tell a
tale.
