-ill-

Daily Poetry #44, March 13, 2017 Word: Ill Is it okay to be sick? Am I okay? Do my insides tick? What do you say? I am okay in your eyes? I don't know if I am. Though it hurts, I rise, Is it okay to not give a damn? I'm not vomiting, I guess I'm okay. I'm not coughing, Come again today. Is it okay to be sick? Do I still function? “Give me an answer, prick,” I need closer inspection. Am I still alive? Even just a little bit? Maybe take a down dive, “You're dizzy, so sit.” So am I sick? “I'm sorry, so sorry.” Things just don't click, Read the story. I'm not breathing, I guess I'm okay. My heart's not beating, Come again today. Is it okay to be sick? Am I okay? My insides don't tick, What do you say?
