-hide-And-Seek-

Daily Poetry #62, March 31, 2017 Word: Hide-and-Seek A face appears from behind for a second, Before turning red and running away. Eyes are teary as they blame themself, “It’s all my fault, for no one will stay.” Hey, you, shy kid, why do you play this game? Clearly you want to be seen, but you hide. Lift your head up and smile, for it’s so sweet, Take my hand and trust me, I’m here by your side. Too scared to assert yourself, afraid of consequences, So you turn your back and run, playing the cat. Eyes are teary as you blame yourself, “I can’t do this! I’ll just fall flat!” Hey, you, shy kid, why do you play hide-and-seek? Clearly you want to find friends, but are afraid to search. Lift your head up and smile, for it’s so sweet, Take my hand and walk to the world, follow that urge. A face appears from behind and smiles, Before stepping out into the world again. Eyes are wide as they look for something new, And they forget about all the pain.
