-giraffe-

Daily Poetry #39, March 8, 2017 Word: Giraffe Hey little girl, holding your stuffed giraffe tight, Always sleeping as if you're expecting light. A constant ring of a bell lulls you to a trance, Where you can spin like a princess, an endless dance. Where clouds can be reached and never cry, Where the fun never ends as the day passes by. “Wake up sleepyhead,” You ignore those words and play, Never wanting to leave a place where you can endlessly play. A place where you can eat as much sugar as you desire, And there are no rules, for that's not what you require. In this world made especially for you, There are endless things to do. In this place where you can ride your giraffe into the sky, Without wires attached to your body, you can fly. Over mountains and hills, valleys and thrills, It's a paradise for a child, until the world stills. “Ignore the pain of reality,” The world says, For it'll disappear without you., but you can't see the lies. “Wake up, sleepyhead,” It's a familiar voice that whispers so sweetly, And the little girl smiles, without thought, “It's speaking to me!” She follows those words and realizes it's her Mommy, Her Mommy is saying that as she cries with Daddy. “Why are they crying?” A little girl without memories, She asks that, and after so long, she finally sees. This world is so beautiful, but truly, it's not complete, So, saying goodbye, she smiles and walks away, she can't wait to meet. “It's a miracle!” They all smile as sweet eyes look around, And after so long, she finally makes a sound. “I got to ride a giraffe!” She giggles with a smile so bright, Because she had finally won the fight.
