Daily Poetry #64, April 2, 2017 Word: Age And here, finally, The end of a long, Unexpected road. Go no further. I stop, I die. He dropped his head, Legs out straight, As if stretched, On a porch on a hot day. Hushed into stunned silence, Twice the frenzy. “Up! Get up! You can’t lie down!” Watch me... He looked sideways, At the end of his world. Something… Anything… A single arc bulb overhead, Blue, cold, and blinding. He then closed his eyes, Light place. The sun on a cobalt sky, Rolling green hills. Another time, Another world long ago.
