- the Fear of Being Rejected -

Loneliness is the lump in your throat
and the darkest place in the soul
                                 A situation, a civil status ...
                                        no social contacts
You've heard it before, but it's still taboo
                                 behind the sparkling facade
                                   ... the painful loneliness
                                          in every breath

                            Uphill puts things in perspective
Nothing in life comes with guarantees
My physical presence is here ... without attending
                                    and you don't see me
Let the past die ... what happens if I kill it ?
I need to develop myself, give me strength and energy

The fear of being rejected ...
heartbeat that threatens to set a new record
An eagle flying alone on drifting clouds
Clouds just need air currents to soar
                                     That's when I thought of
                                  William Wordsworth's words :
"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud"

Expressing these feelings through poetry can be very cathartic as people relate my friend. A meaningful poem beautifully written. Congratulations on your second placement Anne-Lise. I hope things are better. Hugs, Connie xxoo

As someone who doesn't interact with many people. I sympathize. I always think people have better things to do, But I have God and the memories of loved ones lost so I do not feel lonely. Have a great day my friend.

- What preaches loneliness is not the number of people you interact with, but whether the social interaction an individual satisfies his or her need for connection, whether they experience the social interaction they have as meaningful - Many thanks for visiting and your comments, David :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

- Fortunately, "loneliness" can also be used in a positive sense, where one has a positive experience of relating to oneself without having to relate to others, Pixie :) - Many thanks for visiting and your comments :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Your photo spells lonely at the extreme--and you elaborate on that theme expertly in apt words. All the best Anne-Lise.
