Notes About The Poem

- the Elevator -

You say I must be brave
                      but how ?
                      Trembling,
                      with dry throat and lips
                      Pressing on the button
in the middle of the panel
                      The door closes automatically
                      a voice says "16th floor"
                      Intense fear,
                      palpitations, heavy breathing
                      an sensation of suffocation
I should have chosen the stairs
                      ... suffers from Claustrophobia

I would hate to have phobias like these. M only fear is jumping out of a plane or some weird thing like that! Good one!

Yes, that would be a horrible place to be if living in a person's shoes that has claustrophobia. I can feel the tension and anxiety that this person is feeling. Thanks for sharing and for your presence at my poem. Sara

"The Elevator" is filled with, what if. A great picture to go with it. Fear comes in all sizes/place. Have no fear, just tons of blessings..............

I used to work with one who was very sweet but her space is not to be shared. Lol. Your poem is awesome.

I know many fear claustrophobia and fear of heights, I'm lucky I don't suffer from either. Hope your weekend is going well. Tom

Glad this is fiction although going to the sixteenth floor would make me anxious. Hugs. xx

Intuitive poem Anne-Lise. Glad you added the note. The fantasy in a poem, is what makes it poetry. Beautifully written.
