- Fantasy A Different World -

~ Day and night have doors between different realities ~ quote by poet

  Children are an infinite
  source of wonder and w h i m s y
  R e v e r i e has the ability to let thoughts fly
a balance between illusion and reality

The time from the light goes out in the evening
  until morning dawns
  The darkness is experienced
  dramatic and frightening
The ceiling lamp transforms into an evil bat
Mysterious shadows behind the curtain come alive
Scary creatures, sharp teeth and magic
  Even under the covers
he caught quick glimpses of the monster
  The dangers of darkness
  defeats of trolls and dragons

  Between sleep and wakefulness a h a l l u c i n a t i o n
  A d r e a m can play tricks on us
  camouflages itself as a chameleon
  V i s u a l i z a t i o n may not have
  the words to express feelings
  but awakens the child's curiosity
  and challenges the i m a g i n a t i o n

When the sun hits the window pane in the morning
  (with eyes of fear)
... scary trolls, doubtful in daylight

Anne-Lise, I see you placed first and deservedly so. I do remember being scared at times when sleeping as a young child. I think children need a lot of love and reassurance. I’m uncertain as to how much fear is normal at a young age. A troll can take a toll. Smiles!!!

Nicely expressed! Funny how even as a grownup, then awful things come out at night and disappear in the morning!

Loved your poem...doesn't seem like fantasy to me but perhaps more of a surreal reality. Nonetheless, you've crafted a genius of a poem! Faving. Best wishes with the contest, hugs, yellow rose

You’ve woven a great poem! Kids are braver in the sunlight, but still they work things out in their dreams …imagine, create, become courageous…
