I want to know at what point in your poetry writing should you realize that poetry writing is not for you. And how does a person know is it from the critics that tell them bluntly that your poetry is no good or is it from being rejected from posting your poetry on the other sites when do you know

Poetry is art, you do it because you want to and it's entirely subjective. Critics often disagree with each other. Some are natural at their craft while others need to hone their skills more frequently. Personally, I'm not a poet who generally revises as I prefer my poetry to be more an expression rather than try to be prestigious. If you are writing poetry to be published, and not go down the route of self publishing, the workshops here will hone your craft with the help of others critiquing your work. If they take the time to critique your work, I'll say you're doing well, especially the "Don't be gentle" option. It pays to have an open mind when they do so. Be aware that poetry doesn't really sell, it's a great art however for making people into great writers one day, though such as Novelists.

If you want to write poetry, ignore the critics. Hone your craft, hour after day after year. Read other poets voraciously. Obey the drive to write poetry despite the hundreds of rejections. If when you try to write prose and it curves itself into poetry, perfect your style, your voice. 'Poetry is life, life is poetry'.
