Poem
The world’s problem can be solved in a day If everybody would just kneel down and pray The world’s problem can be solved in a day If you listen carefully to what I have to say You twist and turn and scratch your head And you exhumed the bodies from the dead Yet your ideology cannot stop the blood shed The mystery lies within the Godhead The humming birds and the whistling toad The mango blossom and the pineapple stem The tree of life and the precious gem The forbidden fruit all contain the truth Last year June I was eating prune And you showed up exactly at noon We stared briefly at each other before getting together You invited me to a luxurious restaurant And cast a signature with my confidant We got drunk and you stripped everything down to the trunk You blow the whistle and I played the fiddle You roll the dice and I made the choice You spilt milk into my face and scatter prunes all over the place We had a jolly good time and reached out to the divine The moment passed so quickly how could you forget so swiftly We made a fantastic deal and exchanged an automobile It was a beautiful day and we lead each other astray We made a unique sacrifice and you paid an enormous price You rode diligently on the mountain top And I cursed tenderly on top with all that I had got I wet the interior of your window sill with the evening dew dripping from the jaws of the sky I kept riding on top of the hill until my appetite was fulfilled I could feel the burning passion floating beneath the belly of the sky Sending strokes of lightening rod around the earth As white clouds thundered by licking the plant bending over me We reached the seventh heaven on the count of eleven And asked God to forgive our transgression For the obscure obsession and burning passion Our warm bodies wrapped tenderly around the tree Sucking honey from the bee until we both agreed I could feel all its warmth and glory swirling in my head It’s as if something mystical had risen from the dead The soft lights shone brightly behind the backdrop Cementing my hope and raising me up so that I could glow The mountain gods bellow from afar And my spirit began to grow tall My faith enlarge and my mind expanded over the land I listen to your silent whispers As the night grows deeper I glanced at your beautiful eyes and was extremely satisfied The world’s problem can be solved in a day If you kneel down and pray.
