Poem
Everyday its the same I'm haunted by images of things that never were how much longer will it take? how much more must I endure? You put those images in your mind Those same images that play each day you allow yourself the very pain so tell me how do you endure? I take it day by day bit by bit a dagger to my core taken to the hilt sometimes with a few xanax and some whiskey on the rocks Tell me are those thoughts of me or her? You think you hurt, you should I do more your love was my drug you took it from me too It was always you though you might have doubt I live a shattered life but I tried to give you the biggest pieces, hoping we could make each other whole but I guess it wasn't enough Two shattered lives can't make one whole I gave my all to you i may have cast that first stone but you threw it back twice as hard At this point we're past regret but I'll say this just the same in love and life I give back twice what I receive and so it ended, I had nothing left to give You had more to give, I thought you knew I collected those pieces and tenderly glued them together but you gave up so easily and much too soon I think you weren't ready for what I had to give To burn bright I burn fast was never one for a steady glow you offered love, I took a chance, made a step into the unkown I began to sink into you, loosing myself slowly so I ran back to the comfort of myself and away from the unknown possibility of us I knew you were scared to take a chance again so soon I do believe you wanted "us" to work but you broke me too my heart my soul my love my life leaving them laying in pieces I can't forgive that I'm not asking for forgiveness and I don't deserve your love hate me if you wish spit upon my grave I'm content with the thought of thinking of you Well content then you will always be That's the difference between me and you I came to you with a whole heart, you left it broken in two.
