Poem
Everyone just moved on and learned to live without me. It takes me back to the good (well, not so good )old days (not so old),when we were outside a corridor arguing whether it was the feeling or the people, that mattered. We concluded the heated argument by saying that indeed it was the feeling. One cynical friend of mine even went on to warn the lot never to feel too jazzed up when someone liked them. It would only be a matter of "for how long? ".Believe it or not, just like seasons ,people change. I enjoyed my victory, only for it to slap my cheeks red(am black by the way. This was just a background effect ).It is like waitching a horror movie and being able to anticipate the scary parts but still jumping to the ceiling when the ill-fated creature flashes before your eyes. Maybe it's as Einstein said "in theory, theory and practical are the same, but in reality they are not. "My predicament is one with many fingers to be pointed in accusation for. I don't think my fingers and toes combined are enough, but worry not. Most, if not all of them are to be pointed at me. I made a home where the sand was weakest. I made a life where the oxygen was limited. I acted host where I was guest. Today I had the chance of going back to that town that held my memories. I texted my friends but it was the weekend and.... (you know how this goes ).Imagine me dressed up for a past that had long moved on. It was sad. The thin mist in the streets played the videos of all the times we smiled and laughed with my friends like tomorrow was a "forever" away. I placed their familiar faces on those of strangers .I could hear the dying whispers of the alley walls, damn! I should have come with flowers. How did people I trusted with my very life become people I just knew? How did faces I trusted with my tears, turn to people my brain could pinpoint in the flow of an uncaring crowd? Wow, that fast huh? _memories.kept.friends.lost_ Elliepoet
