Girl, for you I have a few plans
I want to make you happy and be your new man
But I can only promise today, Tomorrow may not come
And the only thing forever is Wu-Tang

Hip-Hop saved my life so it will always come first
You'll understand if you've ever related to a verse
played an album non stop and fell in love with an artist
Studied everything they release,  because their music helps you through the darkness

I was bullied and made fun of at school for being the white dude
Who listened to Wu gang, Nas, Rakim and Ice Cube
But Hip-Hop inspired me and I love the artistry
Having hopes of writing like Eminem, Tupac, Big Pun and Bone Thugs N Harmony

I never cared about going out or watching TV
Every week my pocket money would go on a Hip-Hop CD
Hip-Hop provided me a key, when Depression didn't want to free me
Music stayed by my side when I saw people leave me

Grew up in foster care, so I would always feel sadness 
But I still remember the feeling I got when I first heard Illmatic
Wu Tang's 36 chambers album is still one of my favourite albums to chill back with
Marshall Mathers LP was the first album I bought and I still have it 

They said I'd be dead by 21 and said they'd see this kid fail
That meant nothing when I listened to Ice-T, Rakim, Tupac and Big L
Growing up I was always told that Hip-Hop is inappropriate and has a bad reputation
But I learned more lessons from Hip-Hop than my school education
