Poem
I walk around the edge of paradise I stalk you with my universe eyes Let’s walk in unison in Sorrow Town But, nothing’s going to weigh us down Let go of me, for I can survive on my own Obviously, you’re too self-absorbed and prefer to be left alone It’s about time I tell you something secret I don’t want to be the one, falling in love with regret Sorrow Town is where we’re going Our eyes are simply overflowing I don’t know why I cry I don’t know why I cry I don’t know why I cry Listen to the echoes of my plea Save me for your mercy’s sake and set me free Because I’ve been disturbed by the anxieties of life Because I’ve been bombarded by the bewildering strife It cuts me open like a jagged knife… All my life… All my life… All my life… Far away, I roam Might as well head home Go ahead and cry me a lake At least our lives aren’t at stake… Yet Our ends haven’t met Don’t encamp against me now We’ll be lost in liberty somehow Corrupted by the jaded lies of midnight Eager to be enthralled by your marvelous might You’re as gentle as a dove Yet, mysterious as a radiant raven You’re what I always dream of Yet, I’m bound to be in your haven I collapse in the brink of Spring Bring me salvation in this time of need I wish you and I can vibrantly sing You’re my everyday whim, so take heed Of my echoing pleas… Please… And I don’t know why I cry I don’t know why I sigh I don’t know why I want to die In your arms tonight… In your arms, so out of sight I don’t know why I keep fighting the urge to cry… Please don’t cry too… I will find your other shoe My feet are above the ground Was lost, but now I’m found Yesterday’s gone But, I’m moving on Yesterday’s over Yes, I’m a lonely lover In the outskirts of your mind In the meadows in which you find You’ve grown fond of me I can tell You’re so kind to me, even when I hide in my shell You say, “Come out…come out, my friend…” Our unique friendship is around the riverbend I say, mesmerized and in a daze, “Okay…I shall come out for you…” Tomorrow is near, So, lift up your head and cheer up, sad soul Happiness will appear Don’t you know our love is treasure so beautiful? Lay your worries to bed I know your feet feel like lead There’s a lot going on inside your head Let me feed you a slice of beloved bread I cry for your safety’s sake I lie awake in bed, thinking of you non-stop I tell myself it’s too much to take My heart is pounding vigorously as if it’s going to pop Broken down, but not altogether gone I just keep on pressing on and on Cast your fears and worries to the Lord Sustain me completely with His accord I will conquer you with satisfaction All you must do is take sheer action Never give up this time, my vibe so sublime You’re looking like a messed-up criminal who committed a crime I dwell in the tents of wretched hardship’s hold Let’s read words of wisdom, once untold Deliver me from my wicked nature at ease Do me a quick favor and give me a reason to believe in you please My heart, my soul, my mind Is but a brokenhearted stranger My body, my strength, my kind Is but an animal in danger Death and life collide and are no longer here You’re the only one I hold on to oh so dear I cry, yeah, I cry like a man should do in times like these that are so unkind I cry, yeah, I cry and I try my best to keep you out of my disseminated mind But, you tell me in a whisper Not to cry and whimper I’m sorry, but I have to do so I have to release these tears of woe So, I wave farewell and cry… Funny, I don’t know why
