In the year 2009, she was eight, her brother was ten, I was only 59, and we were together all the time. I taxied them both to and from school every day.                                                                                                                    Each of them always insisted on their own way. My grandkids forced me        
to be a good referee, but the lessons were tough and certainly not free.                                                                                                

When I signed up for this job, I must have been fast asleep.                                                                                    But although I wept a lot, I simply refused to retreat in defeat.                                                                                                            
This grandpa quickly became their chief after-school caretaker.                                                                                                               And without cooking lessons, I became their chief spaghetti-maker.                                                                                         

Cooking and watching Disney were often things we did a lot.                                                                                                               When we made juices, you wouldn't believe the faces I got.                                                                                  
We were unlimited and very creative with the recipes we produced.                                                                                       Why, we were fearless to the point of even making 'white potato juice'.                                                                               When we tasted our never-before-attempted juice, it was disgusting!                                                                        

It's another story, but when not cooking or watching Disney, they were  fighting and fussing. I absolutely do not recommend kids and their grandpas or anyone else to try this at home. I ran out of ideas and was forced to do things I wouldn't have done, even if home alone. But when you add it all up, the time we spent together that year was totally UN FOR GET TABLE.
