How I see my Siblings

Nine faces born of the same seed,
Each with their own want and need.
Yet through these lines I seek to know
Which roots have helped me grow.

Eldest Brother
Eldest brother ruled with whip and shoe,
Each harsh strike taught lessons I never knew.
Meeting him meant fear would pave the way—
Childhood dread that shadowed every day. 

Second-eldest Brother

Second-eldest brother grew timid and shy,
Now gentle and patient as the years slip by.
He’d never harm a creature, nor chase off a fly,
Kindness is his kingdom under every sky.

Eldest Sister
Eldest sister sat upon her haughty throne,
Deemed me a blister, left me so alone.
She trod the world in silk while I was unseen,
Her regal arrogance made me feel obscene.

Twins
Twins swam through life like fish lost without fins,
Their fortunes adrift as each gamble begins.
Chasing illusory wins with hopeful despair,
They scramble for answers that vanish in air.

Me (the Black Sheep)
Then came the black sheep who begged only to please,
Taunted and teased, I mastered the art to appease.
Bruised by the laughter, I fashioned my own shield,
Learning through silence the strength not to yield.

Youngest Brother
Youngest brother burst forth before breath had its time,
A spark of pure mischief in rhythm and rhyme.
He popped every bubble with laughter and spite,
A rogue ever roaming, eluding the night.

Second-youngest Sister
Second-youngest sister lived fearless and free,
Her heart danced with courage for all eyes to see.
Some called her reckless, yet her spirit took flight,
Embracing each moment in wild, blazing light.

Youngest Sister
Youngest sister cherished as pearl in a shell,
Grew distant and cool—her warmth none could tell.
She slipped through our grasp like a soft drifting sigh,
Leaving behind echoes of love gone awry.
