I sit with you in uncomfortable silence as your mind rips itself apart.
I feel your sorrow deep In my own heart.
I hold your hand as the pain and darkness dims your eyes.
I yearn to soothe your silent cries.
I watch in helplessness as you struggle with demons I cannot help you fight.
I try to assure you that things will be alright.
I try to stop your worries and calm your fears.
I try to make you laugh, to stanch your unseen tears.
I try to play the role of guardian of your heart,
remaining unflappable when the world threatens to rip us apart.
I try to be enough for you,
constantly proving my Love is true.
Some days I can be all that you need me to be,
The behind the scenes hero that no one can see. 
I’m trying to keep afloat, while I feel like I’m going to drown,
I laugh haughtily that nothing can bring me down.
I hold steadfast as my own storm brews deep inside.
I smile when I want to hide.
I stand strong against the winds of the gale that threaten to overtake me
I pretend nothing can shake me.
I hold firm as I walk over my own cataclysmic cliff.
I seamlessly mend my own jagged rift.
I am broken, I am bent,
I am lost, I am spent.
I wish I had all the answers you seek,
I wish I was strong, instead of weak.
I wish my Love was Enough 
I wish I could be your safe haven when the seas are rough.
I wish you to know I love you through light and darkness.
I wish you to know I am here for you in joy and starkness.
I will sit with you in the dark until the light shines through.
I will be there, because I love you.
