Poem
The loneliest that lurks within her soul twinkles in her eyes like a meteor coming into the atmosphere. The first impression of her is a glimpse of happiness, she smiles widely and is very polite. Her hair is brushed up in a ponytail, her clothes fall on her tiny figure like a fitted sheet to a bed. Her makeup is perfectly placed on each eye like a movie star, she speaks with respect, but you can hear the tone of a skeptic of wondering who you are, knowing she can go from nice to mean in seconds. Her personality is of a young adult excited for what’s to come, and a free soul to live life to the fullest. At least that’s what someone who meets her for the first time would think, even the ones closest to her heart may assume. She wears a mask every day to hide the pain and suffering she feels internally, she hides behind it to protect herself. She blames herself for things that she had no control of, she hates herself because of the negative thoughts that flow through her mind like a leaf in the wind. She hates it when she can’t grasp happiness because she’s being pulled to the dark pit in her mind. The sun is to bright, air is to cold, and her mind is to scatter to embrace happiness. She has a fiance that would walk through fire for her, yet she still feels alone and unwanted. Her parents love her to the moon and back and will give up everything for her happiness. Her sisters are younger, but look up to her wanting to be just like her when they grow up. They don’t see what is beneath the service or behind the mask that reveals her true self. She wants to sleep more throughout the day, take make time go faster, but she has no idea what she should look forward to. The days can drag on but she continues feeling worthless and lonely battling her inner demons. She hates being fake to anyone but she fears what they would think of her if they knew she was broken. The feeling of not going anywhere in life hits her hard like a stone crashing into the ground. The hit makes her stumble, and she tries to regain focus on life, she rubs her eyes so the river of tears can be wiped away to reveal a clearer path. Her fears overcome her every day, the fear of being an adult, being a person in society, being herself, she doesn’t realize her worth. She takes her meds to slap away the negative thoughts that try to cage her internally. Her storms will pass, the clouds will clear, and she will defeat her demons and have happiness. No more mask, no more fighting, she’ll overcome what evil has set in front of her. The blade of life will strike her inner demons and destroy them completely, the air will clear, her mind will stabilize. She’ll know loved one’s past and present will always be with her, smiling with pride. She is a Queen in the making she will rule her own happiness and stand tall to any negative thoughts. She won’t allow her demons to revive and place her back in the dark pit of what was once her mind. She knows her worth and will live knowing she overcame the darkness and will wear a mask no longer. She’ll become a wonderful mother, a wonderful wife, and a wonderful person. There is one thing though she has always been a wonderful, loving, daughter and nothing could have ever changed that in her parent’s eyes.
