WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS

I don't make my intentions public
But I'll voice it all to you
Though I know you really don't exist
I'll pretend that you actually do

So for Christmas this year
What I want from you
Is family reconciliation
So please see what you can do

I have some family members
Who haven't spoken to me for three years
There is no bed of warm embers
Just my pillow wet with tears

Saint Nick, if you're out there
Bring me closure for my tears

MY NAUGHTINESS

My story may not be funny
Nor even naughty like so many
But Mama didn't like it all
And as for laughing, she did not any

I'll never forget that Christmas
My brother got a train
He wouldn't let me play with it
My begging was in vain

So when no one was looking
I threw it in the fire
Mama's anger burned even hotter
I felt her sternest ire

So, Santa Claus you can see
Why you don't exist to me

WHY I DESERVE REPRIEVE

Yes, Santa, I was naughty
Although years ago
I'm asking for reprieve
So grant it, HO! HO! HO!

I know I'm out of kilter
With what I'm asking you
But I've been real good a long time
Hoping to hear from you

I know I said I don't believe
And while I never will
I'll keep on pretending
That you're actually real

Surprise me with a gift card
That shouldn't be too hard
