Christmas Memory

                                  From childhood memories I recollect 
                                   I opted for a bicycle as present.
                                            Dad told with little pause
                                           ‘Let it be Santa Claus.
                                 He will bring your gift: A great grand event.
                                
                                I got simultaneous jerk and shock.
                              ‘How could Santa put cycle inside sock?
                                           Dad told ’Don’t worry,
                                           Nor to feel sorry.
                            Cycle to put beside sock by twelve O’clock.

                              Enjoyed Christmas Eve and happily slept.
                             Rejoiced to see cycle on day next.
                                      Christmas Carol sang.
                                      and the door- bell rang. 
                             Someone gave bill of for payment.          
                             
                         I rushed to Dad ‘Santa has come in guise.
                           He claims money. Do you realise?’
                                  Dad was prompt to say
                                  ‘Later, Santa will surely pay.	
                        Messenger has come to apologise.’
