The ticking sound of a mechanical clock
beats to the music of measured time.
This fractured control of man's ebbing life
tears apart the golden fabric of eternal rhyme.

Broken fragments of eternal years
erodes mankind's fabled garden of youth.
As invented minutes slap human lives,
the busy world forgets celestial truth.

Collections of moments become trapped
when time is gathered into man's cage.
Wisps of days vanish into past memories,
as each human being changes with age.

The clock's battery operated hands
count man's imaginary ideas of time.
But the frail existence of human life
is silently taught by death's immortal mime.
