Poem
Tired of the bright side The perfect goody goods Wondering what it’s like to do the opposite To actually feel good about being bad Wondering why those others kids do No – Not kids but grown Those out their parent’s house and on their own Yes I wonder how it is To look danger in the eye and not Scream for mom or dad To be angry and have that ability To carelessly lash out and At the end feel better knowing that Yes I am strong I am fearless And I can take care of myself Still I wonder do they feel sadness Or is it bottled away Or can they understand happiness Or is it a one-sided game in which They play and play and play again After countless times and countless defeat They never win – Why do I want to cross over again? They look danger in the eye It is all they have ever known So are they really grown? No But mentally and emotionally Are still growing And they carelessly lash out always Because they are always angry I know they must feel sadness And that little bottle That anger Is an inner volcanic eruption And the game is only one-sided because They never stopped to study the rules So they choose to accept defeat Followed by an angry retaliation After observing an emotional coaster ride Observing those wanting to die But never completing this victimless crime I have decided to decline this darker side
