Poem
I hope the world starts to see the good in your heart I hope you find someone who wipes the blood from your scars I may not know how to save a life but I can spread love I hope everyone going through something keeps their head up I battle depression daily and most the time I feel alone I built the wall after the demons had already got inside my head and built a home I tried to evict them, but some still live in a room up there But I had a refurbishment, so there's a new look here We're all fighting different battles just trying to find our way to survive We fake smiles during the day because we cry when our bad memories replay at night At 17 I overdosed on tablets and tried to take my own life So I wish every lost kid out there makes it home tonight I used to pray that I would die in my sleep No one knew because I wouldn't cry to my peeps I hid my suicidal thoughts from the world but I needed help I just wanted to be free from all the pain I'd felt I soon realized you can't feel happiness if you don't experience pain first I hope I have it in me to inspire someone with my words We're all fighting different battles and it doesn't cost a thing to be kind To me this is one of the hardest poems I've had to write, to others it will just be more rhymes I hope the teenager picking the blade up finds a way to put it down I hope the young queen being discriminated against, still wears her crown I hope those being bullied, fight back and realize how special they are I wish that every self-harmer finds a way to stop and heal their scars Almost 6 years free from the blade, I never thought I'd get here This will give hope to some, but writing this poem was one of my fears I may not know how to save a life but I can spread love I hope everyone going through something keeps their head up
