Poem

No words
can be spoken,
no movements
can be made.
Life
is but a dreamstate
and the body
is a cage.

No sights 
can be seen
through the 
swaying black mist,

but sounds,
              sounds large and small
are the only things
left to entice.
Lulling hums,
melodious beeps,
rythmical thumps,
and the voices
              oh the voices.
So far, so near,
authoritative, daring,
heard
for uncountable hours on end,
until
 there is but one to hear.
So far, so faint,
calling me
even though I can't understand it.
I crave to find 
this heavenly voice,
but my cage
is untouchable
for life's current
flows steadily
through this lifeless form.

So I lay
in this endless, formless,
                                 black limbo
without friend or foe.
To be tormented
by the voices
                oh yes the voices,
and the sounds
                 so many, so different.
While time
is mearly a dream
I wish to end.
