Poem
I ask myself what are some friends really for in your life When really and truly some are around for what they can gain Some are only interested in benefiting from you Some really don't care if they cause you pain A true friend does not envy you for anything that you have They don't get red eyes for the new car that you bought They don't carry any form of information to your girlfriend Instead when cheating they cover you so you don't get caught No one is really perfect we all tell lies at one point But no matter what your friend always tells you the truth And when other people play hypocrite about your looks Your true friend is not afraid to tell you if you are not cute Only your true friends will be honest with you at all times They tell you as it is and will always give you an honest answer Your true friend will always ride or die for you that's a promise No matter how bad even if diagnosed with aids or cancer I have had experiences in life with people that I thought were friends But after the long run with them found out that they were really fake Some wished me a good night when going to bed at nights When deep down in the morning they wish that I didn't wake But like a ball kicked against a wall I did bounce back And it’s a good feeling to know who my friends are today They try always to offer me sound advice and opinions And like a true friend always listen to what I have to say So when you do have good friends appreciate them at all times Because they are not like fake friends they don’t come and go I have had bad experiences when it comes to friends in the past But I have good friends in my life now and this is what I know So I take the time to pour champagne and raise a glass to my friends I especially salute the ones that stood beside me over the years The ones that helped to pick me up off the ground when I fell And most of all to the ones when i cried was there to wipe my tears By: Marlon A Malcolm
