Some nights I just feel helpless
As if my world is falling apart
And there is nothing I can say or do
To please my breaking heart

I try to stand up tall and brave
And just make my own way through
But memories from the past make it hard
When added with the present too

Instead I curl up upon my bed
And whisper a lullaby
With my favourite things around me
I try hard not to cry

But sometimes life gets a little too much
And my tears just have to fall
And so I lay there in the dark
And their names I begin to call

They don’t know how much it hurts
To have your family torn from you
Because they’re so full of hatred
They forget it’s upsetting too

Some nights I just feel helpless

So I lay in the dark all alone
To comfort my broken heart
