Grasshoppers. friday a.m. cumulonimbus sky palaces heavy with promise glide teasingly above Wild Enough. thirty days of thirst beg to be quenched the trees are tinder and grass will burn like excelsior the local ants worry about low levels in the neighbourhood well. friday p.m. then the grasshoppers come the summer ones pouring out of the cities they roar up to their summer palaces in dusty blood spattered chariots grim grime picked from picturesque roads that lead to shangri-la, comealot and bide-a-wee. friday later p.m. and the grasshoppers come into the tinder trees of Wild Enough and start blazes on alters of jubilation sacrificing meat tubes and marshmallows in celebration for passing whole through the vale of four lane strife to attain a weekend of hedonistic life. saturday a.m. & p.m. and the grass hoppers come to summer to enjoy their pristine land of lundy cocoons around manicured lawns and fauna shopping from garbage cans. on saturday morning the chariot scrubs then a dip in the lake and a sun the afternoon spent watering plots of grub in the evening bonfires and fun. they cry their taxes outrageous for the amenities Wild Enough provides and think the ants take advantage of grasshoppers who summer nearby. sunday a.m. & p.m. what luck the grasshoppers chortle to have sun thirty days in a row not a drop to tarnish our golden hours hope it lasts ’til tonight when we go. let us enjoy the bountiful sweet water from our convenient neighbourhood well we pay too much for it in taxes the ants can go to hell.
