Poem
Bottled up with so many tears. Running in fear from self and others. I too have needed a bridge over my troubled waters. Down and drowning, needing a hand to lift me up. God is reaching for you, but you need help to touch Him. Excesses have gotten you deep into the mire and the muck. Open your eyes and your ears that you may see and hear again. Voices of deceivers and liars have taken you far away from friends. Every time you awake; every time you speak, no one's there to listen. Rivers are flowing in every direction, too fast and furious for you alone. The white water rapids are pounding and splashing hard against the rocks. Reach up my friend and take my hand; don't be afraid of those gusty winds. Out from the zones of terror, I will lead you into a peaceful and resting place. Underneath both you and me are the everlasting arms of God. Buckle up for the ride of your life as we set our sails to new heights. Let me be here and there and everywhere for you, now and always. Even when you fight against me, I will still be your friend until the end. Dry your eyes and look toward the stars; the angels are rooting for you. Winter storms have brought you floods and mudslides; but your Spring has come. After the Winter comes the bright season of new life; and the whole earth sings. The time for new beginnings has arrived, and it's now your time to shine. Enlarge your vision my friend, forget the past and dream again. Rise and shine and whine no more; spread your wings and soar. Sad times have run their course. Listen to the chirping birds and their songs. They are singing, "Good times have just begun". 10032017PSContest, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, John Hamilton
