Poem

She always saw visions of dark human-like figures walking
towards her in the dead of night;
they didn't speak or create any commotion.
They always surrounded her bed,
then bent their backs like folded envelops-
whenever they did that, they turned
to a clear, night sky before her frightened eyes.
She always felt herself levitating in the clear,
night sky, looking at projected images of her dreams
and ambitions.
After the visions, she always awoke with sweat and fright.
"What or who are those dark figures?" she asked.
Often she prayed on her knees, until one day a sign came
in form of an ant dragging a leaf in the garden, one fine summer.
Suddenly she felt courageous enough to fight her fears,
and fulfill her dream as a painter.
In a matter of two months, she made her first successful sales
in her newly discovered talent. 
It is after achieving her dreams by fighting her fears,
that the dark human-like figures ceased to appear...
