Poem
He feels the best of him slipping away A sip a drip at a time When will the he and him align What is he missing He can't stop thinking in and out of focus drifting as he witnesses his soul thinning It unravels like twine Looking to the Heavens for a sign pretending happy when he's less than fine Still hanging feverishly to his moral compass Wondering what's the meaning of all this Would he sacrifice all of it for a passionate kiss a stranger in the dark sorta wish He imagines new carnal pleasures against eternities treasures His compass arrow cuts deep into his mind what things beyond it would he find. Thoughts of infidelity flood his mind He pushes them deep instead of leaving them behind Acting on thoughts would be his destruction His ultimate soul deconstruction A pain filled complicated copulation Leading to temporary pleasured sensations nothing more than a form of masturbation Only momentarily relieving his frustrations Is he evil because of what he is thinking What's the meaning he's holding in with his blinking I guess he longs to feel his pulse quickening But in the waves of feelings the images are both sweet and sickening Should he even ask himself these kinds of questions Will he be forgiven if he makes a thought confession Is it all just an obstacle on the path of his direction correction Thank God he's under heavenly protection Fantasy will not be his selection He try's to ask himself Kingdom questions Bright light thinking and feeling comprehension Not his consumptive kind of investigations and out-worldly perfect pronunciations These feelings that burn in him he prays won't turn him to sin Looking further and further away a wondering wanderer unable to see feeling trapped wanting to be free counting down the nothingness of it all afraid of how far he might fall Losing himself steps one two three He says "Save me from myself God I beg You please even if I'm too stubborn to fall to my knees Don't let this heart freeze blow through my life like a breeze I long to feel you move within my leaves My branches are bent still I'm one of your trees" Don't let the best of him slip away teach him to pray Let Your wisdom flow through his veins Touch his soul not just his brain Wash away the stains Until what is pure remains Chewing and ripping can't cut through his pain Let him look with hope to a new day To do things of purpose Your way Let him have a part in Your Kingdom Before from Your Glory and path he strays I know You're close but he's drifting away Please hug him until he's okay! I wrote this after reading this article. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the prevalence within the Christian community. It takes a great toll on Christians and non Christians alike. https://www.onenewsnow.com/culture/2014/10/09/survey-alarming-rate-of-christian-men-look-at-porn-commit-adultery
