THE DARKEST HOUR The darkest hour of the night - hits us just before the morn This moment of deepest thoughts - before we are re-born Fleeting in its moment - hard to keep within ones minds clasp A momentary window of vision - build by nature - not to last This often fleeting visionary moment - so deep within our soul Gives us rhyme and reason - to our inner spiritual future goal Chilling in its moment - as if one almost suffers a small death The smell of regretfulness and guilt - are often on our breath Then just as it appears - we are given the day’s first sprig of light The darkest hour expires - as a new day yearns - all things bright There is no use in wallowing - of the lessons you have just learnt Best placed on that imaginary fire within your mind - to be burnt The darkest and deepest hour of the night - is given for a reason To teach us how to balance all things in our life - that are uneven To put the fear of God into us - if we then continue with our sins We are then given with a new day - to cast off these very things The darkest hour is called repentance - the new sprig of day hope Gives us all the strength to carry upwards - on the righteous slope Those who do not heed the message sent to us by God to - atone Will be lost in the darkness hour of the night to be forever - alone Indiana Shaw . . .
