In the desert of desolation,
I feel this all-too-familiar frustration
I yearn for something more
You're the one that I adore
You're the one that I adore

You deserted me long ago
The wind moves to and fro
I was wondering where you've gone
Maybe in the wilderness, drenched in sun

You wear a striped shirt like an expert
I wear whatever I want with little effort
I'm growing weary
You got all teary

Purging out sin out of my life
Is easier said than done
This ain't a good mixture - peace and strife
Still missing California's sun

You manipulated me,
But I don't mind anymore
Nothing matters much, baby
You're the one that I adore
Although you hurt me to the core
Let the sun scorch on
Like the delightful dawn
Fresh and fine you look today
Please don't hurt me this darksome day

Break me like the dusk of dangerous dreams
Dark and mysterious you came out to be
Mischievous manias I've experienced - it screams
At the top of its lungs inside my head that beats on repeatedly

My lovely sunshine
I wish you were truly mine
I miss your radiant shine
Reluctantly, I take a glimpse at the moonshine

In spite of today's lamentable day,
I'd rather sleep in bed all night long
All along, all alone in utter dismay
My life is like a door bell, ringing "ding dong"

Dear lovely sunshine,
Please don't let me go tonight
I'm drunk off of poverty's wine
Shine a light my direction with undying might

Let's dine this fine, fine day
At least I'll be having my way
With you around,
I'm above the ground
You make me feel like the sky
I'm your sunrise...a desert that is oh so dry
But moist with delight and joy
I'm as happy as a little boy
With candy in his pockets and smiling with glee
My lovely sunshine, will you ever stay with me?
